Breana Field is a native of Vienna, Virginia who has lived and traveled all over the United States and abroad. She has loved painting since she was a child, painted her first mural at eighteen, and several in her early twenties.  After completing a BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, her woodworking focused degree found her employed in cabinet and furniture production, and teaching woodshop classes. But she longed to travel. A cross country move west landed her by chance in winemaking, which took her chasing the harvest season for ten years, working in wine cellars in Oregon, Washington, California, New Zealand, Australia and France. In between winemaking seasons she chased boats, which took her from Lake Powell, Utah to Alaska to Fiji to the Faroe Islands and out onto the open seas to complete an Atlantic Ocean crossing on a small sailing team. In between that she chased lots of solo travel, some long distance solo motorcycle trips, yoga training, boat making, camping, cooking, hiking, backpacking, some volunteer projects and the occasional painting gig. She has been to over 30 countries so far and considers that her greatest accomplishment. A delightful twist of fate in 2020 refocused her on painting once again. A friend with a new home asked her for a mural while she was on a cross country journey, after which she received overwhelming positive support on social media and humbling quantities of inquiries from potential new clients. Thus, her company was born in early 2021, because she says ‘yes’ even when unsure she can do it, and listens to the direction the world is pushing her in. Breana believes in going for it, she believes in trusting your gut, she believes in herself and she believes in you! She would say she hopes to never have to get a real job ever again, but she isn't sure she's ever had one. She is now dreaming of painting in all 50 states and beyond, and so far she has painted in Virginia, Maryland, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, Delaware, South Carolina, Maine, Ecuador and the Azores. She sees the timing of everything as just perfect, as she now has the opportunity to bring together her love for people and the ability to communicate with them that she develops while traveling, with her love and talent for creating. Keeping life simple and prioritizing travel and outdoor adventures is her forever work life balance pursuit, and the gift of self employment as an artist has brought a pure and joyful freedom to her life. She dislikes how technology is placing our instant gratification culture on traditional arts and she does not digitally design. She believes commissioned paintings should still be a brave journey into unknown adventure, guided by collaborative conversation between client and artist. She creates art from conversations, and she would be thrilled, and grateful, to start a new collaborative adventure in your home or business with you, should you feel up for an exciting chat.
